FORMAT
For the entire pre-merge phase of this game, the format will be ARENA. That means no tribe challenges. You will, each round, vote off one of your own and risk them leaving the game. Once voted into the battle area, the rejected players will battle in a challenge against an assigned opponent for a chance to rejoin the game. Two people will leave and two will return, to a tribe of their choosing. Whilst in the arena/battleground, the players can communicate with with any other players in the game. This will help them decide where they may like to return. Until further notice, the arena match-ups will proceed as follows:
1st round: Marvel hero vs. DC hero, Marvel Villain vs DC Villain
2nd round: Marvel hero vs. Marvel Villain, DC heroes vs DC Villain
3rd round: Marvel hero vs. DC Villain, DC heroes vs Marvel Villain
Wash/rinse/repeat
As for timing, the first round will be a long one while you all arrive at the board and get to know one another. But from then on, the rounds will mostly be 24 hours long. So as soon as you vote someone into the arena, your clock starts ticking to vote the next member of your tribe in - and you will have 24 hours. So what does that mean for the duel returnees? Well once our winners are known, they will return to a tribe of their choice, but they will not vote in that round, and they cannot be voted for. So the plus side of the arena is, if you win your duel, you're guaranteed safe for the next round - so that you have an entire round with your new tribe once you're vulnerable again.
Once we merge, we will have heroes and sidekicks. This is a simple concept with a lot of political undercurrent. Individual challenges will be competed in by all players in the game. The winner(s) will be heroes and immune from the vote - but they don't have voting rights either. They also choose a given number of sidekicks the same gift as themselves. Each round, you will know how many heroes and sidekicks there will be and along with competing in your challenge, you will have to name the sidekicks you will choose in the event of your success. We'll talk more about that when the time comes.
SPECIAL POWERS
Many of you will notice that the powers you once had in the Marvel and DC universes are no longer effective now that you are in the Comicverse. Some however, have retained very minor powers - but don't be jealous - because they are of no benefit to them. If you feel you should have had a power, and that power will not affect the game, please let us know and we will consider it. But onto more important matters, there are some special powers that you all can have - and they are actually useful.
At the bottom of the board you will see three password protected forums in my favourite colours, red, white and blue. I won't tell you which is for which, but one contains a vote doubler, one contains a vote negator, and one contains a hidden immunity idol. So how do you get them open? Well, each password is six digits/letters long and case sensitive. You can find out these six digits/letters in one of three ways...
1. You can win a reward challenge and choose a clue from the available ones below. It will be provided to you in private. So if you chose blue clue 6, when it is revealed to you, you will know what the sixth digit of the blue clue is like. Our reward challenges always used to be separate events, but due to budget cuts and the fact that this is arena format, we're opening up all duels each round to be competed in by whomever wants as a reward challenge. Two for one! The fastest in each challenge, be it dueller or reward competitor, will win a clue of their choice and it will disappear form the collection below. The reward winner will always remain anonymous. Worth playing for?
2. On occasion, I will hide clues around the board. When you find those hidden items, you won't know what order it fits in with the password, but you will know the colour that it fits in. For example, if you found a blue tile with a capital B on it, you would know that one of the six digits for the blue password is a capital B, but you won't know which one.
3. You can find out from someone else showing you theirs.
I will update these as the clues disappear. You can trade, you can lie, you can do whatever you want. Enjoy!
